BIBLE IN 90 DAYS

Ok, so we made it to day 5 and we are in Exodus! I love reading the story of Moses every time. It shows so much of God’s love for us and His patience for us. As I looked at the dialogue between Moses and God before Moses returns to meet with the Pharaoh, I observed how God uses many different ways to reveal Himself to us. My favorite verses are Exodus 14:13-14 “Moses answered the people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still.” How easy is it to read these words, type these words, speak these words…yet how challenging it is to live these words! MY challenge for today is to not be afraid, but to be courageous, stand firm and know that God will fight for me. All I need to do is be still.

What about you?

  1. I found myself thinking that the whole Pharoh/Moses situation was a very strange way for God to get His message across. Why couldn't it have been simpler? Why did it have to involve blood and death and icky things like gnats & flys & locusts (eww) I was asking God this and He showed me in my own life how often a word to me isn't enough. How I just see things my way, how set I am on doing things my way -- that God has to get creative. He has to go bigger. I joke that I am a 2x4 girl (meaning God often has to hit me over the head with a 2x4 to get my full attention). I didn't expect reading the Exodus story "again" would have that impact. That I would learn something new from a story I already "know."
